MS-WORD It is a word processing programme. It provides all works related to word. Such as:-editing in word, deleting in word, creating of word, formatting of word, creating table, formatting of table, insert, picture, object, check spelling, mail merge, etc. It is a product of Microsoft Company and part of Ms-office. The default extension of word will be .DOC How to start Ms-Word:Click Start + programme + Ms-word
1) Title Bar:- The band which holds the name of active file is called title bar. 2) Menu Bar:- The band which holds the name of menu is called menu bar. 3) Menu:- it is a name which is a group of commands. “OR” Menu holds the name of commands 4) Standard toolbar:- The short-cut symbol holds which band is called standard toolbar. 5) Formatting toolbar:- The band which holds items of formatting. 6) Scroll bar:- To scroll the size of file.
7) Drawing toolbar:- The band which holds the items of Drawing.
MENU BAR 1. File 1. FILE + SAVE OR (CTRL+S):- This Command is used to Save the Currently active file with a name. Req step:a) Give “File + Save” or “Ctrl + S” Command b) Specify the name of file in file name box. c) Click on
button 2. FILE + NEW “OR” (CTRL+N):- This Command is used to active new blank file. Req step:a) Give “File + New” or “Ctrl+N” Command b) Select by clicking c) Click on button. 3. FILE + CLOSE “OR” (CTRL+F4) “OR” (ALT+F+C):- This Command is used to close currently active file. 4. FILE + OPEN “OR” (CTRL+O):- This Command is used to open existed file. Req step:a) Give “File + open” Or “Ctrl+O” Command b) Specify the name of file in file name box. c) Click on button. 5. FILE + SAVE AS “OR” (ALT + F + A):- To Save Currently active file with a new name. Req step:a) Give “File + Save As” or “Alt +F + A Command b) Specify the name of file in file name box. c) Click on button. 6. FILE + EXIT “OR” (ALT + F + X):- To exit from MS-Word environment and for come window. 7. FILE + PRINT PREVIEW:- This Command is used to display the contends of active file as printing style. or It also displays that if you will print currently active file then which type of page you will get.
Req step:a) Give Command b) Click on button after determined. 8. FILE + PROPERTIES:- This command is used to display the properties of active file as-size, type creation date. It also allows us to write some summary about currently active file. Req step:a) Give Command b) After determined click on button. 9. FILE + PAGE SETUP:- This command is used to setup the page for printing style as-margin, paper size, document style etc. Req step:a) Give Command
b) Specify desired instruction for its related box. c) Click on button. 10. FILE + PRINT:- This command is used to print contents on paper through printer. 11. FILE + SEND TO:- This command is used to send message to another system as-E-mail through Internet.
2. Edit 1. EDIT + CUT “OR” (CTRL+X):- This Command is used to cut the Selected string or message and store in clipboard. Note:- Clipboard holds message up to Cut or Copy any message. Req step:a) Select the message
b) Give “Edit + Cut” Command. 2. EDIT + PASTE “OR” [CTRL+V]:- To paste the message from clipboard at the position of cursor. Req step:a) Move cursor at desired position b) Give “Edit + Paste” Command 3. EDIT + COPY “OR” [CTRL+C]:- To Copy the selected string and store in clipboard. Req step:a) Select the message b) Give “Edit + Copy” Command How to Insert same message at desired position. Req step:a) Select the message b) Give “Edit + Copy” Command c) Move cursor at desired position d) Give “Edit + Past” Command 4. EDIT + CLEAR “OR” [DELETE KEY]:- To delete or clear the selected message from active file. Req step:a) Select the message b) Give “Edit + Clear” Command or Delete Key. 5. EDIT + UNDO “OR” [CTRL+Z]:- This Command is used to Cancle previous executed command and Instruction and move previous position. 6. EDIT + REPEAT “OR” [CTRL+Y]:- This command is used to Repeat last command or Instruction. 7. EDIT + FIND “OR” [CTRL+F]:- This command is used to Find or Search desired string in active file. 8. EDIT + REPLACE “OR” [CTRL+H]:- This Command is used to replace Finded string in desired string. 9. EDIT + GOTO “OR” [CTRL+G]:- This Command is used to move cursor at desired line, paragraph. Req step:a) Give “Edit + Goto” Command b) Select line option c) Specify line number in box d) Click on button e) Click on button.
10. EDIT + SELECT ALL “OR” [CTRL+A]:- This Command is used to select all message of active file at a time.
3. Insert 1. INSERT + PICTURE + CLIPART :- This Command is used to Insert Picture at desired position in active file from clip gallery. Req step:a) Move cursor at desired position b) Give “Insert + Picture + Clipart” Command c) Select any Picture d) And Select its related Picture e) Click on button f) Click on Close button. 2. INSERT + PICTURE + WORD ART COMMAND:- This Command is used to Insert the style of word. Req step:a) Give “Insert + Picture + word art” Command b) Click on button c) Click on button d) Specify the any Name e) Click on button
i. New word art :- To active new word art. ii. Edit text:- To change text for selected style. iii. Art style iv. Color v. Rotate
:- To change the style of text. :- To change the color of selected picture. :- To Rotate the selected picture in desired angle.

3. INSERT + PICTURE + FROM FILE:- To Insert picture from picture file at the position of cursor in active file. Req step:a) Move cursor at desired position b) Give “Insert + Picture + From file” command c) Select Picture file d) Click on buttom Click on , Click on 4. INSERT + PICTURE + AUTO SHAPE:- This Command is used to insert desired Auto shape at desired position from Auto shape tool bar. Req step:a) Give “Insert + Picture + Auto shape” command b) Select any tool bar button and its related shape. c) Create shape by drop and Dragging method 5. INSERT + BREAK COMMAND:- This Command is used to break page or Column at the position of cursor. Req step:a) Move cursor at desired position b) Give “Insert + break” command

Bold:- (Ctrl + B):- To bold the selected message or string. Italic:- (Ctrl + I):- To Italic the selected message or string. Underline:- (Ctrl + U):- To Underline the selected message or string. For double Underline:- “Ctrl + Shift + D” Lift:- (Ctrl + L):- To change the position of selected message as lift arrangement. Centre:- (Ctrl + E):- To change the position of selected message as central arrangement. Right:- (Ctrl + R):- To change the position of selected message as Right arrangement. Justify:- (Ctrl + J):- To change the position of selected message according to space. Color:- To change the color of selected message. Insert + Picture + Chart:- This command is used to Insert chart at desired position of page. Req step:a) Give command b) Define data for chart c) Click on mouse in other location.
7. INSERT + SYMBOL:- This command is used to Insert desired given symbol at the position of cursor in active file. Req step:a) Move cursor at desired position

INSERT + REFERENCE + FOOTNOTE:- Define Footnote for word. Req step:a) Move cursor at end of word b) Give “Insert + Footnote” command c) Click on Insert button d) Specify message
13. INSERT + AUTOTEXT + AUTOTEXT:- To define the name of Text for Insert at desired position with desired manner. Req step:a) Select the message b) Give command c) Specify the name of paragraph d) Click on button. INSERT + BOOK MARK:- This command is used to define the name of paragraph for activation of cursor. 4. Format 1. FORMAT + FONT:- To change the formatting or selected word as Font type, Font size, Font color, Font style, Underline, etc. Req step:a) Select the message b) Give “Format + Font” command
c) Select or check mark on desired option d) Click on button. 2. FORMAT + PARAGRAPH:- To change the formatting of selected paragraph. As- indent, Alignment, and line spacing.
